What is Television & Film Clearance?

Clearance is simply the term used for the process of ensuring all protected works and items (copyrighted, trademarked, etc.) are "clear" to use in a television or film project. During this process, the clearance team works diligently to obtain permissions to use these items in production. For instance, if you want to film a scene in front of a popular mural of Kobe Bryant, our clearance team would track down the artist of the mural for permission to show their work on camera and handle all the necessary paperwork. Simple right?
